Q: video tutorial about how to scrape data trough mcp
Hi, I just connected my demo agenticflow account to mcp trough activepieces, so now how could I use https://spider.cloud/ (trough MCP) to scrape data of product pages? I think that a video tutorial about usage of MCP to scrape data would be great..

May 8, 2025A: Hey Matteo77,
That's a fantastic use case, and you're right, a specific tutorial on using scraping MCPs would be super helpful!
Here's the current situation and how you'd approach it:
1. Using MCPs (Like Spider via ActivePieces) Right Now:
At this very moment, MCP actions are primarily designed to be used by Agents. You would:
- Create or select an Agent.
- Make sure your ActivePieces MCP server (which includes the Spider action) is connected in your AgenticFlow settings.
- Instruct the Agent using natural language within its chat or prompt settings: "Use the ActivePieces MCP tool to scrape the product data from [Your Target URL] using the Spider action." The agent should then understand and execute that specific MCP action.
2. MCPs in Workflows (Coming Soon!):
The ability to drag-and-drop specific MCP actions (like your Spider scrape via ActivePieces) directly into the visual Workflow builder is our highest priority feature right now. We're targeting its release around May 12. This will make building these kinds of automated scraping flows much more straightforward, just like using any other node.
You can track the progress here: https://agenticflow.featurebase.app/p/use-2500-mcp-as-nodes-in-workflow
3. Tutorials:
You're absolutely right, we need more specific tutorials! We're aiming to release a couple of new tutorial videos each week, focusing on common use cases. You can see our planned tutorial list (and request new ones) here: https://agenticflow.featurebase.app/roadmap?q=tutorial
Could you check if the existing "Social Media Repurposing" tutorial (which involves scraping a blog URL first) offers any helpful insights for the scraping part, even though it doesn't use an MCP for that step? Link: https://agenticflow.featurebase.app/p/tutorial-social-media-repurposing-scrape-blog-url-greater-generate-linkedin
Most importantly: Please create a new feature request ticket on the roadmap (https://agenticflow.featurebase.app/) titled something like "[Tutorial] Scraping Website Data via MCP (e.g., Spider/ActivePieces)". This way, we can track the specific need and prioritize creating that video guide for you and others!
So, right now, use an Agent with natural language for MCP actions. Very soon, you'll be able to build this directly in the Workflow builder with visual nodes!
Thanks for pushing us on the tutorials – really appreciate it!

great! For now Activepieces, yes permit the MCP integration, but is missing spider.cloud misteriously.. :-D So I continue trough pipedream now for tests, thanks!
I opened the ticket into the roadmap, thanks!
Yes just notice that, much appreciated !
