Q: AWS Required

Do I have to use AWS to use BeHuman.Online? I prefer not to use AWS. I'm also unsure if BeHuman.Online works with the Sidekick browser. I set up a webinar, but it doesn’t show video or audio, and I can’t load into a webinar session. I shared the link in incognito mode, as I saw in a BeHuman YouTube video. It requires a password, which doesn’t make much sense since I noticed a guest login option while looking at your demo links. I see some great reviews, but I'm not there yet, as I can't get it to work. Perhaps it's because I don't have AWS set up.

A: Hi James, thanks for considering BeHuman.Online for your online experiences! If you want to use video calling then yes, you do need to link to AWS. We received your email & video - thank you! 🙏 - and yes, this is the reason that you're not able to connect on video - because your event isn't linked to your AWS account for the video calling.

Think of BeHuman.Online like a car rental service: we provide the vehicle (the virtual event/meeting platform), and the gas (video data) is what you pay for based on how much you use it. We give you the tools, and you drive it as far as you need, consuming video data from AWS for as long as you're on video together.

Our focus is to create a unique and brandable online event space that people enjoy using - not to mark-up video data from 3rd party vendors (as other event platforms do).

Linking to Amazon Web Services (AWS) is only needed when you want to allow attendees to meet on video such as in the Lounge or in the Private video feature, or if you want to use the Main Stage feature. The AWS-powered video features are billed directly to you by Amazon Web Services (AWS) based on your usage.

For allowing access to streaming videos (live or replay) in a branded, registration-enforced environment on your own domain name, there’s no need to link to Amazon—great for evergreen webinars, multi-day conferences with multiple keynote events, or private corporate knowledge base / training content.

About support for the Sidekick browser - I think it will be entirely possible to use BeHuman.Online in the browser - but you should keep in mind that this browser is focused on security and has some built in web filtering features. This may interfere with accessing your camera/mic, and could require specifically granting the browser access to these.
