A: Hi Gary,
That review was from a year ago. I think at the time AppSumo users were looking for a MagicForm replacement and we just had good timing with a LTD. I think that user's review captures the main differentiator of our chat product which is that you just tell AI what data to collect and it asks all of the right questions at the right time to collect the data you want and deliver it to sheets. I would argue against the comment that it's not human enough. That's where we invested most of our time and I think our 5-taco average rating speaks to that. If the bot answers a user question, but it's tasked with collecting data from the user, it will immediately follow up with a relevant question. It behaves the way humans do on a discovery call where both sides are asking and answer questions and both sides are collecting data from each other.

I think our scraping is average, but our strength is in the ability to use Google Sheets as a database for content, so you have more control over data that is scraped. You have columns of data which is ideal for lists of data like products, or real estate listings, or anything that should be in a database! We do plan to build a scraping product, but it would extract data from the web and then generate a spreadsheet which you can use as a database for a chatbot, or to generate a Slide presentation.

I would look at Botsheets as a product building on top of Google Sheets rather than a broad based chatbot tool that tries to do too many things and nothing well at all.

The language models have dramatically improved as well since that review so it does feel quite human, and "human takeover" of a conversation is not on our roadmap. We're an automation company. Our customers and their agencies don't have the time or resources to sit there and monitor conversations to take over live. You need a human full time doing that. Most people don't want to chat with a human. They want immediate responses. They get what they need and then they leave. They don't sit around waiting for someone to take the call.

Josh, thanks for following up. Question. If I upload a CSV file into Google Drive, (but if it's not an actual Google Sheet, but instead of CSV file that was uploaded into the Google Drive, will your application be able to use this in the same way it would use a Google Sheet? My clients can export a CSV from their POS system and I'm wanting to connect to their CSV file. Can I also do that?

When you import a CSV into Google Sheets, it asks you if you want to open it, or convert it a Google Sheet, so yes.
