Q: Request for Video Tutorial/Webinar: Using BD for Selling Online Courses with Razorpay Integration
Hi Brilliant Directories Team,
I understand that your platform is primarily designed for creating search-based directories. However, I am interested in using Brilliant Directories for an upcoming educational academy that plans to sell self-paced courses (both written and video-based content) along with creating community for students.
Could you please provide a video tutorial or detailed guidance on how to:
1)Set up the platform to create community and sell courses (with secure access for logged-in users)
2)Integrate Razorpay for receiving payments
3)Ensure course content (videos and written materials) cannot be downloaded but can be accessed by users only after login.
This would greatly help us evaluate if Brilliant Directories fits our needs as an online course platform.
Thank you!

Apr 21, 2025A: Thanks so much for your thoughtful question and for exploring how Brilliant Directories might support your educational goals! We love use cases like this — while BD isn’t a full Learning Management System (LMS), it can absolutely be used to sell online courses and build a secure student community. Here’s how:
⸻
✅ Here’s how you can set it up:
1. Sell Courses & Create a Community:
You can use the Sell Digital Downloads tool to sell course content (PDFs, videos, links, etc.) behind a login wall.
Pair that with private member chat, member categories, and blog-style posts to build a thriving student community.

2. Razorpay Integration:
Yes! Razorpay is now one of our officially supported gateways and works great for selling memberships, downloads, and more.

⸻
3. Protecting Course Content:
You can restrict access to course materials using members-only settings and post-level privacy options. While BD doesn’t have native video DRM, you can:
• Host your videos on tools like Vimeo, Wistia, Loom, or YouTube (unlisted)
• Use password-protected videos or whitelist your BD site domain
• Embed those securely inside members-only pages or digital product pages
⸻
If you’re looking to start with one course and grow from there, BD is a solid option — and can be upgraded as your academy scales.
Let us know if you’d like help mapping out the structure — we’d love to help bring your idea to life!

@Jason_BrilliantDirectories Thank you for your quick response. I am on the fence right now, as I am facing budget constraints due to significant investment in the offline mode of the academy. I am very interested but currently limited by my financial resources. Could you recommend which tier might be the best option for me?

If I'm not mistaken, there's a limit on the number of members, but does that also mean there’s a cap on digital downloads? Once the membership limit is hit, can I still provide digital courses? Am I permitted to sell courses to non-members, or is membership mandatory for access?
Totally understand! Tier 3 is a smart starting point with 10K members. Digital products don’t count as members, so you can keep selling courses. Buyers just need to register (free) to access content. You can upgrade later if your community grows—plus the 75% promo code helps a lot.

Can the 75% promo code you mentioned be applied to upgrade my tier on your website? Also, based on your previous message, if my primary goal is to sell digital courses without needing to add members or utilize additional technical features, can I effectively use your platform while bypassing those options?
