My personal little gem

For the price on offer, this tool is a little gem in the AppSumo portfolio. It is a must for cloud architects and engineers with endless potential for further cloud platforms. I love it!

Can't recommend for basic security reasons.

We can't speak for the quality of the features of the platform as we decided to stop the evaluation right away while starting its use.

In order to make use of this platform you need to provide ADMIN access to your cloud infrastructure. While there is some explanation as to how to proceed, there is a total lack of information as to what the scripts do and why they are necessary.
This is not good practice and should be a red flag for just about anyone.

The developers will certainly push back because this review will look bad on the product.
Don't let that fool you: anyone "needing" to have Admin/root level access to your infrastructure for any of their products is simply not to be trusted. There are proper ways to do this. Security can't be an inconvenience to be dismissed lightly.

Refunded immediately.

Dear TIOF,

I think there must be some misunderstanding. Cloudshot DOES NOT mandatorily need admin access. Administrative access is only required if you want to deploy anything in your cloud environment. This is precisely the same as your AWS/Azure/... account. To deploy anything, you need access. In fact, Cloudshot securely assumes the role of the logged-in user when you connect your account with...

Awesome Product

This is one of the coolest products I have ever used. I agree with a fellow Sumo-ling who said "This should be built into AWS/Azure". Its that good! I could seamlessly integrate with my Azure and AWS account. Happy to see Idp and Cognito access which is way secure than giving out the id/key. A lot of my routine Cloud operations have become so easy and efficient (from hours/days to minutes). The reports (price & co) gave me the detailed break-up which I could use it right-sizing the machines. I also tried moving my data from Google Drive to S3 and it works great. Took a bit of time but I didn't care since the other apps are way too costly.
In summary, buying LTD of Cloudshot is a no-brainer. Its more value for money.
@cloudshot, are you guys integrating Linode in near future ? I see someone asked for it and I've +1 for it.
Cheers!

This should be built into Azure/AWS etc. - so good!

I'm in multiple clouds, but wanted to start Cloudshot with Azure, my main cloud provider. Setup was very easy. Creating the diagram was easy, once I realised what steps to perform. I think that a tour of features would be very good.

After my diagram was created (very quickly) I immediately noticed resources that I'd forgotten about....and have been costing me money! Time to audit my usage and resources. The estimated budget was good, although access to the real budget would be better.

Overall, a fantastic tool that I will be using a lot, as it's so useful. I also have a few clients that I'd like to introduce this to, but wonder how much pushback there will be due to security concerns. A FAQ addressing these types of objections would be useful.

Do I love it? Yes ;-)

In the right way

As an overall, the implementation idea is so good. Having integration with open source tools such as diagrams.net/draw.io is my favorite part. I think, the product has potential to be one of the most used tools in the field. However, you guys, should have a clear and transparent roadmap to get feedback constantly from the community.
I had tested other competitors tools and I think they have some good things, but this one can be developed with more interesting features. If i have to decide which features are the best currently, they could be open source based project, live monitoring capabilities and agnostic integration to cloud providers. The things I identified you should work on (from my very own opinion) are product QA (some simple issues that could be a UX trouble), transparency about offering, capabilities and roadmap, and include more services and network configurations to discover and represent into the diagrams (e.g. vnet peerings, databricks workspaces, and so on.)
Some intersting features that I wish to see soon are team tier, more services representations into diagrams, and may be, api or analytics module.
Good luck.
