I recently purchased CookiePal and was initially quite optimistic. The interface looked promising and intuitive, and the customization options – like editing the cookie banner text, changing the logo, and adjusting layout settings – gave me the impression of a flexible and capable tool.

However, after taking the time to carefully configure everything, I realized that many of my changes weren't reflected on the live website. For instance, the cookie preview icon, which I positioned on the left and customized, never appeared as expected. More critically, even though I updated the texts in the cookie policy and banner, CookiePal continued to display the default templates they provide, completely ignoring my customizations. This made all the effort I put into tailoring the content essentially useless.

In addition, I experienced multiple technical issues while using the app. It often required a full page refresh due to errors, and sometimes those crashes caused changes to be lost, forcing me to repeat steps I had already completed.

Overall, CookiePal feels like a beta product still in early development. It certainly has potential, and maybe it will improve with time – but for now, it wasn’t the right fit for me.

Regardless of the reasoning, I am talking about transparency and being up-front about these things. I don't see a 'white label' fee on your pricing page - why would it not be up-front and clear if that was your goal?

It does, however, say "... Custom logo, Custom Cookie Icon..." under the "all plans"
So, what is "custom logo" referring to? And why would any reasonable customer not expect that to mean we don't need to have the CookiePal logo on the product for "all plans"?

I'm incredibly disappointed by this kind of business practice.
Beware when buying that they brand the interface; it doesn't show in the preview, but when you deploy it live, it is there. There is no direct way to turn it off, and when you look for it, they say to just contact them, and they are able to take care of it. But this is their response:
"We receive your message on the live chat regarding the 'powered by cookiepal' tag/branding you want to remove. To remove this, you have to pay €2/month extra per domain for a white label variant."

I don't want white label, I just don't want the CookiePal branding conflicting with my client's branding... this is basic stuff, if you pay for a premium plan, you should need to be a walking advertisement.

My experience with Cookiepal has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to a significant improvement in my website's compliance and advertising performance. I am especially grateful to Lennard, who is an absolute professional. He answered all my questions and resolved my ad tracking issues during a meeting, leading to my lead forms now running perfectly with Cookiepal.

The UI of the tool is excellent, and I love the simple and clear dashboard. While the market-leading tool in Germany achieved a maximum of 60% acceptance in my projects, Cookiepal has reached an impressive 72% in the last 7 days. This is a huge advantage for optimizing ad budgets, as higher tracking acceptance provides more data for ad platforms to deliver desired traffic.

Previously, I faced some challenges, including slow loading times and issues with Google Ads measurement consent. The team has been incredibly responsive, and I am thrilled to report that these issues are now fixed. Loading times have significantly improved, and the "Ads measurement consent signals inactive" errors in Google Analytics are a thing of the past. For the past two days, Cookiepal has been loading consistently on my website, which is a great sign.

The only remaining point for improvement is the WCAG issue regarding insufficient contrast ratio for background and foreground colors, but I understand this is expected in an upcoming update.

I initially rated this tool lower due to the initial challenges, but the team's dedication and quick fixes have completely changed my perspective. I am very impressed with the progress and the commitment to resolving issues.

It does what a CMP should, we use it as a replacement for other other solutions, where no cookie CMP is available on the web solution. We like the scanner function, thats really helpful. Overall - the solution is good and easy understandable, price and plans for us a go. Of course more features are always possible;-) What is really important to us: Cookiepal is a UK based company so the know about the must privacy needs for all European countries. GDPR and other privacy regulations. We hope they will add Swiss nFADP soon (it simple if . What we didnt found is a DPA for EC, because there is a data exchange in between.
