Had to Refund - Product is Not Ready Yet
I recently purchased CookiePal and was initially quite optimistic. The interface looked promising and intuitive, and the customization options – like editing the cookie banner text, changing the logo, and adjusting layout settings – gave me the impression of a flexible and capable tool.
However, after taking the time to carefully configure everything, I realized that many of my changes weren't reflected on the live website. For instance, the cookie preview icon, which I positioned on the left and customized, never appeared as expected. More critically, even though I updated the texts in the cookie policy and banner, CookiePal continued to display the default templates they provide, completely ignoring my customizations. This made all the effort I put into tailoring the content essentially useless.
In addition, I experienced multiple technical issues while using the app. It often required a full page refresh due to errors, and sometimes those crashes caused changes to be lost, forcing me to repeat steps I had already completed.
Overall, CookiePal feels like a beta product still in early development. It certainly has potential, and maybe it will improve with time – but for now, it wasn’t the right fit for me.

Thanks for your detailed feedback and for giving Cookiepal a real try. I’m sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations right away.
From what you’re describing, especially the banner showing default content despite customization, there’s a good chance the banner was installed in two different ways. For example both through GTM and hard coded. When that happens, one instance can override the other, making changes seem like they’re not being saved. If that’s the case, the issue is on us for not making the install process clearer and that’s something we’ll improve.
Another possibility is that Consent Mode v2 is enabled in your setup. When that’s active, certain customizations are restricted by design to stay compliant with Google’s stricter requirements. That could explain why some changes aren’t appearing exactly as expected.
