Way to hide the small print - UPDATE

Thank you for the quick reply, but I'd like to offer a correction.

The preview does not show the branding, and I have the screenshots to prove it. I would add them here if it were an option.

Regardless of the reasoning, I am talking about transparency and being up-front about these things. I don't see a 'white label' fee on your pricing page - why would it not be up-front and clear if that was your goal?

It does, however, say "... Custom logo, Custom Cookie Icon..." under the "all plans"
So, what is "custom logo" referring to? And why would any reasonable customer not expect that to mean we don't need to have the CookiePal logo on the product for "all plans"?

--------------

I'm incredibly disappointed by this kind of business practice.
Beware when buying that they brand the interface; it doesn't show in the preview, but when you deploy it live, it is there. There is no direct way to turn it off, and when you look for it, they say to just contact them, and they are able to take care of it. But this is their response:
"We receive your message on the live chat regarding the 'powered by cookiepal' tag/branding you want to remove. To remove this, you have to pay €2/month extra per domain for a white label variant."

I don't want white label, I just don't want the CookiePal branding conflicting with my client's branding... this is basic stuff, if you pay for a premium plan, you should need to be a walking advertisement.
Bad form, guys - be better.

Hi there,

Thanks for your feedback. We genuinely appreciate all reviews, especially from users who care enough to speak up.

To clarify for anyone reading along, the “powered by Cookiepal” branding is visible on our live banner demo before purchase. It’s not hidden, not a surprise, and it’s quite standard in the CMP space.

Just for context:
- Cookiebot charges over €10 per domain to remove their branding
- CookieYes restricts it to higher-tier or enterprise plans
- Cookiepal offers branding removal for just €2 per domain. No enterprise gatekeeping and no need to be a reseller

We designed it this way to keep the base plan affordable and let users decide what’s important to them. Some prefer to keep costs down, others want full visual control. Both are completely valid.

If the branding doesn’t align with your project, you’re welcome to remove it or request a refund. No hard feelings. We’d rather you use a tool that fits your needs than feel stuck with one that doesn’t.

Thanks again for giving Cookiepal a try and for sharing your thoughts.

All the best,

Update:
Hi there,

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

We completely understand if Cookiepal isn’t the right fit for your needs. Our intention has never been to mislead anyone. The branding has always been part of our standard setup, and we didn’t initially offer a brandless or white label version. That option was introduced only after we received multiple requests from users who wanted it. We’re a small team and adapt quickly based on feedback, which means some features and options have evolved since our AppSumo launch.

We’ll also take your comments about clarity on the pricing page and language like “custom logo” into account. That kind of input helps us improve both the product and how we communicate.

At the end of the day, we know we can’t appeal to everyone, and that’s okay. If the way we’ve structured things doesn’t align with your expectations, we respect that and you're absolutely welcome to request a refund.

Appreciate you giving Cookiepal a try and for helping us grow through honest feedback.

Best
