Q: Security/Stability vs. OpnForm?
How does this compare to OpnForm? They were a deal on here I hope to see again, open source and total soc2 self hostable security through their leading gitHub community who has a 1-minute quick setup on railway self host. I am primarily concerned with privacy/security and continuous improvement (founder dedication). How can we be sure the data here is never viewed on your back end?

To answer your question, I don't know OpnForm, never tried it, so I cannot tell you how it compares. What I can see from first glance is that Deftform offers everything their free and pro plan includes and more, plus we don't charge per additional user.
If you want to self-host and deal with maintenance and stuff like that, it may be a good fit. But there are better open source options available.
We are dedicated to keeping data safe and have released 55 updates in one year. Submitted data is encrypted via AES-256, only workspace admins (and invited team members) have access to data submitted by respondents. And we don't use any tracking like that: https://cloud.ivymayhem.io/0dxjcbdV They are required to use a cookie consent for this, but it seems they don't care and send data to Google and CrispChat without asking your permission.
Does that answer your question?

Good points about their gdpr opportunity to comply better. Regarding the data entered into the fields though, security and privacy are the concerns that a self-hosted option absolves. Can you speak to that, beyond saying it's encrypted&private is there something you can say about your willingness to agree to never access the form fill data we host, which our users trust us with?
Uhm, "willingness to agree..." ? :D What an odd phrase. We have absolutely no desire or need to access any submitted data – never have, and never will. We simply want to offer an alternative to all the bloated and over-priced form builders that exist. We don't share or sell any data with any third-party, neither yours, nor those of your users.

glad to hear that! Yea to explain the word: agree, on a sales page, refers to the representations and warranties that an offering comes with. if you state you will protect our privacy then it is an agreement, thats why I ask for statements on the subject. in the US there are consumer protection laws, not sure about your country if it's just GDPR but Germany is probably similar.
