Q: Desktop App Request

I have an overseas team that I send tasks to via Slack. These arent tied to a project, no billable hours, just random things I need done.

On the desktop app, there is no way to turn the timer on and off. I used a competing app and it takes screenshots as well, but it only did it when the timer was on (It also told me the amount of activity they were doing). Because these computers are theirs and not mine, I cant ask them to track everything they do, nor do I want to pay them for work that isn't mine. Just a suggestion, otherwise its a great tool.

A: Thank you for sharing your suggestion! We truly appreciate your feedback. However, I’d like to highlight a few features you might have missed that could address your concerns.

For instance, Desklog provides two tracking methods: app-based and web-based. Both methods allow you to manually start and stop your tracking hours. With the app, you can log in and out directly through the app interface, while the web version lets you log in through the web portal and manually begin your work session. Once logged in, the app automatically tracks your time, including idle time, breaks, and focused hours. If privacy is a concern, you can easily log out, and the app will stop tracking your activity, including screenshots.

As an admin, you also have the flexibility to set specific start and end times for tracking, ensuring that time outside of those windows is not recorded.

Additionally, Desklog allows you to create projects and assign tasks to team members, tracking the time spent on each task. This can help evaluate your team's efficiency and performance, leading to better overall productivity.

If you'd like a more in-depth onboarding session to get the most out of Desklog's features, please let me know and we’ll be happy to arrange it for you!

I understand that you can login and logout of the desktop app, but a button to login and logout would actually be much more convenient. Aside from that, it is a great product.

You can find your "Logout" button on the Desklog app by right-clicking the app icon from the system tray. Break buttons are also available.
