Q: Information on SMS amount and contact limit

Hi I’m interested in this tool for my small business. I have about 30,000 contacts I’d like to send messages to. How many messages can I send per day without issues if I were to use something like Twillio or Plivo?

Would I need to purchase a lot of phone numbers in order to do so with my volume of contacts ? Also does the tool it’s self send to this many contacts and automatically cycles between phone numbers in my account so not too many go out from one particular number ??

Lastly how many contacts can one user have in their account max ??

Please advise.

Thank you

A: Thanks so much for the question. First, we don't control it, your gateway (Twilio) controls the limitations.
Our tool doesn't have any limitations on how many contacts you can have in your account.
As for messaging, it is wise to drip your messages out so that the carriers don't block them as spam. Our system does allow you to drip messages out. You can also do a number pool if you want to which will send messages out in batches from different numbers.
KEEP IN MIND...if you're messaging in the US, you will need to do 10DLC/A2P Verification with your gateway for every local number you get (We recommend Twilio as they're the most reliable and well known). If you're doing toll-free numbers you will need to do toll free verification for every toll free number you get.
My assumption is that you have a solid list of customers you're looking to move over from another platform. Please understand, it's important to follow TCPA guidelines for text messaging. Spamming cold lists of people who didn't sign up to hear from you for example is a poor business practice and a violation of the law in the US so things like that can get your account cancelled by Twilio, and us.

Now that the not-fun stuff is out of the way, let me answer your other question about message quantity.

A quick google search shows the following info for Twilio...
"Twilio's daily message limits depend on several factors, including your Brand type, T-Mobile Trust Score, and the type of number you're using (long code or short code). For example, a Sole Proprietor Brand has a limit of 1,000 SMS segments and MMS per day to T-Mobile, while a Standard Brand can have up to unlimited segments to T-Mobile depending on their Trust Score. With a single number, you can send one message per second."

I hope this info helped you out my friend. Thanks for the great question and God bless you!
