Q: I'm not sure how many codes I should buy - Please help
I have a question about pricing - I'm not sure how many codes I should buy - for me, "Plan 2 - Startup 1 (2 Codes)" has more features than "Plan 3 - Basic 2 (3 Codes)", at least in the description - Plan 2 while being cheaper gives me:
- 15+ templates
- Unlimited number of pages
- Free SSL certificate
- 3 Admin accounts
... which is better than more expensive Plan 3.... It's confusing
What will I get if I buy 4 codes? What plan will I get?
Please help, I like it and want to buy, but I don't know what shall I purchase

Feb 20, 2025A: I totally get the confusion! To clarify, there are essentially only two plans sold on AppSumo:
Basic Plan (Tier 1)
Start Plan (Tier 2)
The additional tiers (tier 3-6) don’t unlock new features, instead, they lower the sales commission from the standard 10% down to 5% or 2%, depending on how many codes you stack. With that said, Tier 3 is not necessarily better or worse than Tier 2, but it has a lower sales commission rate, as it's the extension of Tier 1.
So, if you want access to the website builder feature and additional admin seats, you should opt for a Start plan. Depending on how much you plan on selling through your Academy, you might want to opt for Tier 4 or Tier 6, since it has a lower transactional fee than the original Start plan.
