Interesting, but lacks luster
Purchased this last year at Tier 5, there had been mentions of allowing clients/customers to login and manage their own policies, however, this like 'CNAME', has made no appearance, and as per a reply from Jay_GetTerms on 19th May 2025 in reply to another user, this has now been "deprioritised ".
Something that is incredibly frustrating and rarely works is their WordPress plugin, it seems to pull in live policies, however, when using privacy focussed browsers such as Brave (they're becoming more and more popular), the policies just don't load, they're actually blocked, which is strange, as their competitors manage to pull this off nicely.
Another frustration is there doesn't appear to be a en_GB option within the WordPress plugin, and you have to use the en_AU option, I'm not to familiar with how similar spellings are across the board, but for a client, this may be confusing.
Lastly, the lack of any public roadmap or changelog is annoying and leads me to believe that there is very little going on behind the scenes, sure the WordPress plugin seems to increment in version number once in a blue moon, although I'm not certain those updates are automatic, as I have to download the same plugin from their website with no version number mentioned, and it's only when uploading to WordPress that it's highlighted within the differences that there's a new version.
All in all, it could be amazing, but right now, pretty poor performace and missing functionaility that was mentioned when they were last on AppSumo (second half of 2024). I would add that having a public roadmap/changelog would aleviate the concerns regarding lack of updates and adding functionality. Hopefully, not a wasted purchase.

May 21, 2025Hi markus11 thanks for the honest feedback.
A few things to address/update from your feedback:
White labelling is not a priority for us at the moment. However, inviting users to manage their own policies is a priority and is in our roadmap. This exists at https://getterms.featurebase.app/roadmap
Embed issues with Brave browser: We have a solution that will go live this week which will resolve...

A Max-Tier No-Brainer
I've had the pleasure of using GetTerms on sites for over a year, and I have been nothing short of impressed.
And with all the recent improvements and support, I'm happier than ever with the experience!
The other day, I was able to set up a cookie policy, privacy policy, site terms, and a customized cookie widget in a flash!
One of my favorite features has been the ability to scan for cookies and automatically have them updated so I don't have to manually add each one.
Building a privacy policy or terms for a site is now a simple process and I can use shortcode to put the policies on their respective pages. (The other methods are still available, so there is flexibility depending on your needs)
And support has been on top of it. I had to reach out to support for one of my sites recently, and they worked with me to resolve the issue in notime!
If there was anything I'd like to see improved, it might be to make manual edits to embedded policies directly on the platform. You can still take a policy and paste it directly to a site and then make edits on your site if needed, so it is not a make-or-break request.
Recent upgrades seem to have improved the intuitiveness of the platform and managing policies has never been easier!
I fully recommend GetTerms.
5/5 tacos 🌮 feels like an understatement.

Really good, but needs improving
I was looking for a cookie consent widget so delighted and bought T5.
Using the wordpress app, it didnt work and upon some investigation I found the statment
"This add-on plugin requires WP All Import Pro or Free, and the Pods - Custom Content Types and Fields plugin."
Should at least be in the instructions. I dont like adding loads of plugins to my site. In 3 years time I wont remember that these 2 are needed for the cookies consent so Im likely to remove them!
Can you please advise on the additional plugins needed?
If I can get it working then Ill re-review

Edited May 14, 2025Hi lhc456, thanks for your review however it sounds like this message is coming from a different plugin, at no point do we (or have we) ever required another plugin to use our plugin nor do we use any language like this. If you would like to contact us at support@getterms.io we can help you get to the bottom of this.

Needs improvement.
I love supporting startups and small to medium-sized businesses. It's an investment that can grow so i can look past little mistakes.
I could really have used this as an added value for my customers. However, I am encountering the same error with 2/2 sites , so I can't integrate what I am creating into the websites.
It starts out great; I would say the UI is easy to navigate and guides you in adding missing information. It’s extra work for me since it’s not in my language.
When I try to add the plugin to the website, I receive an error. What I need to add is the form where users can edit their consent, which is really important. I reached out to support but didn't hear anything. After following up, I received some feedback, but now, a week later, I am still waiting for a response.
The main problem with a service like this is that, as an agency selling my customers a solution that can address critical issues that could lead to significant fees, I encounter problems early on, making it difficult for me to fully trust it, special the cookie scanner.
Sadly, I don’t have time for this. 👨💻✨

Data Inconsistencies
We really wanted this to work due to the amount of money we spend on subscriptions for a similar tool, but we are noticing data inconsistencies and as an agency we don't feel like this was a reliable data compliance solution for us.
