We discovered HeySummit at exactly the right time — when we were urgently searching for a platform to host and manage our events. From the start, we were impressed by the flexibility and the fact that it supports both in-person and online events. The wide range of settings and configuration options already makes it stand out.

We opted for the highest AppSumo tier. Even though this tier maps to the “Growth” plan (the smaller of the two public plans offered by HeySummit), we were pleasantly surprised to find several valuable features included. Some features — like assigning tickets to individual workshops within an event or issuing participation certificates — are still locked behind the higher-tier Premium plan (outside of AppSumo). Of course, we’d love to see those features included or offered as optional add-ons, but we do understand the business decision to keep them exclusive.

What we find fair and very welcome is the reduction of platform fees to 0.75% at the highest AppSumo tier. Compared to the typical 2.5%–10% cut taken by other platforms, this is a major plus.

Regarding bugs: yes, there are still a few here and there. We experienced minor issues during onboarding and regular use. However, we immediately reported them to the team, and in every case, they were addressed swiftly — sometimes late into the night. That level of responsiveness and enthusiasm from the HeySummit team gives us confidence that the platform, which has been around for a few years, is still actively and passionately developed.

Overall, we’re happy with the direction HeySummit is taking and feel confident we’ve chosen the right tool for our event operations.
