Promising! Hoverify had a baby with YellowPencil...
I like CSS tools because I am no good at CSS, there is no way for me to do this from scratch, so visual editors are very important to me.
I have been using Hoverify for inspection, seeing how other people CSS their sites helps. But directly changing stuff require me to do some CSS code and that's not always easy. A tool like YellowPencil for WP gives me a simpler way of editing CSS, with sliders and such. InTab is kind of like Hoverify, with those sliders for editing. Best of both worlds.
The Layers tab on the left is also very helpful. It shows the nested structure of the site. This was one of my main pain points when using Hoverify which doesn't have that feature. I often find myself selecting the wrong element when things overlap. The layers tab in InTab makes things clearer.
It isn't perfect though so 4 Tacos for now. Below are a few areas I'd like to see from InTab:
1. Clicking on the Layers tab doesn't allow me to select/edit it. Especially painful when divs overlap, clicking only selects what's on top. So I thought layers can help me select what's behind it. This is not the case. Clicking on the item on the Layers list doesn't actually select it for editing. This did not behave like I expect it should.
2. CSS Animation is missing (on roadmap, but I am writing about right now)
3. Hoverify has a JS code window now. Honestly these 2 tools are very similar in function. But the competitor is more mature and has a lot more tools for dissecting a site. InTab attempts to compete in the Editing aspects. So IMO it needs to be better at allowing more advanced Editing than Hoverify. Having JS makes it still more advanced. I hope to see this included in InTab in the future (whatever MicroThemer and CSS Hero has, I want them in InTab too). If InTab can later allow testing GSAP, for example, would be excellent.

May 9, 2024Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a well-written and detailed review.
awesome feedback! I have taken notes of all the points you have mentioned and I will make sure to address them in the next releases mainly around the layers panel as it was just introduced and new improvements should be added for sure.
Thank you 😊
