Q: Projects, Brands and New Features

This looks nice! Couple questions:

1. Project = Product?

2. How many brands can each tier have and can we connect those to Seller Central as outlined here: https://help.keywords.am/getting-started/understanding-brands

3. I saw several other new features were rolled out in April which look great (Keywords List Manager, Deep Keyword Discovery Waterfall, AI Assist, Smart Listing Generator, Brand Integration). Do we have access to these features in the Appsumo deal?

4. Like others, I'm eyeing the features under development on the roadmap (Product Research & Market Analysis, Keyword Competition, Full Listing AI Audits). We buy early to grow with the company... not get stuck on a starter version of the software. Will these features be available to summolings? We are all more than happy to BYOK to offload costs so its sustainable for you.

A: Hi WhitneyLA,

Good and fair questions. Let me address them one by one.

1. Project = Product?
A project in Keywords.am refers to a specific product listing or a variation of a listing.
This might help: https://help.keywords.am/getting-started/what-is-considered-a-project-in-keywords-am

2. How many brands per tier, and can they connect to Seller Central?
The “Brands” module is a newer feature designed specifically for sellers enrolled in Amazon’s Brand Registry. However, because the Brand module was introduced after the AppSumo launch and is tailored for trademarked brands and agencies managing multiple accounts, it’s not included in the LTD plans. This is consistent with how we separate modules that require deeper infrastructure and ongoing data connections.

LTD plans are mapped to their promised feature set, and we’ve kept that consistent to protect users like yourself from sudden changes.

From an organization perspective, you can always use Project Groups to organize your projects in brands, product lines..etc more on that can be found here: https://help.keywords.am/getting-started/understanding-groups-in-keywords-am

3. Yes! Except for "Brands" which is the only one from that list not included (as explained above).

We’ve actually gone beyond what was promised on AppSumo by adding generous features like AI Assist which is / was never promised to Appsumo users — this comes with a free monthly allocation, despite having ongoing infrastructure costs.

4. Yes, most if not all coming down the pipeline should be included. Usage will depends on how assist-based and compute-intensive those features are.

We always try to include new features for LTD users when they don’t create ongoing costs (like API usage, AI processing, or real-time data sync). However, some upcoming features rely heavily on cloud-based AI, large-scale data models, or premium third-party integrations — which we can’t sustainably offer in unlimited fashion under LTD terms.

That said, we're committed to making sure LTD users always receive real, ongoing value, and we’ll continue to honor the original deal — plus add where we can (as we’ve done already).

Regarding BYOK (Bring Your Own Key). While we appreciate the suggestion, this approach isn’t compatible with how Keywords.am is built. Unlike general-purpose tools that rely on public models like GPT-4, our AI is purpose-trained specifically for Amazon sellers It goes far beyond generic language capabilities. It’s built using Amazon listing guidelines, insights from their patents, algorithm-focused white papers, and years of hands-on seller experience. Of course, no one outside Amazon has full access to their ranking algorithm — that’s the "secret sauce." But what we can do is continuously train our models based on the latest public information, proven tactics, and trends in Amazon's evolving ecosystem.

Allowing external OpenAI keys would bypass all of this specialization, resulting in a generic output that lacks the accuracy and Amazon-specific intelligence we’ve designed.

In short: Keywords is not just "using AI" — we’re building seller-focused intelligence, fine-tuned for Amazon success, and improving it continuously based on what works in the real world.

The last thing you want is to pivot your entire ecom strategy around a tool, only to get an email a year later that starts with “It is with heavy hearts…” — no business owner wants to see that dreadful message. This is why we're deeply focused on sustainability — both in terms of the platform’s infrastructure and the long-term value we deliver to users. Many SaaS companies struggle when they try to offer too much too quickly, especially under lifetime deals. That’s why we aim to strike the right balance: honoring what was promised, adding meaningful value where we can, and ensuring the business remains strong for years to come.

As always, I’m happy to explain more or walk you through how it all works if you're curious! Just shoot me an email and we can schedule a call / demo.

Thank you, really appreciate the thorough response. In regards to Brands and connecting them to Seller Central, is it possible to add this feature on to an Appsumo plan through a paid upgrade? It looks really useful.

Great question — the Brands feature (including Seller Central integration) is only available on subscription plans due to the advanced use cases and ongoing data costs it involves. While it’s not included in LTD or available as an add-on, our subscription pricing remains very affordable compared to other tools. You can start with your LTD plan and upgrade later if your business needs evolve.

Also, I see each plan comes with a specific number of marketplaces. Since the Appsumo plans dont have Brands connected to Seller Central for direct publishing, whats the functionality with marketplaces? Is it primarily for local keyword research?

Yes, correct. Marketplaces primarily serve as the context for localized keyword research. Each reflects regional search trends and uses its own languages. We adapt keyword suggestions, AI assists..etc based on the selected marketplace, helping you optimize for different audiences. Example: keywords that perform well on Amazon US may not be relevant or phrased similar in other markets.
