Q: Mac + iPhone
Guys, it doesn't make sense to pay for an app without the continuity of Mobile & Mac with the same account, honestly...
It's like I had to pay double the price to access my Bear Notes or Apple Notes on both devices; it's incongruent with the tool's purpose.
Even worse, I see we can't use the Desktop app and In-Browser app with the same account.. 🤣
(Especially as, honestly, the app is not as good as ChatGPT + yet... 🙊)

Dec 31, 2024A: I understand your point. However, the AppSumo deal is a lifetime offer, and we need to ensure the sustainability of our business. Adding each new platform incurs AI and development costs. This is necessary to ensure we have the resources needed to develop the service, which is our top priority.
We are a bootstrapped company and cannot afford to subsidize growth. All of our revenue is reinvested into building the product. We truly appreciate your understanding and support, and we’re committed to continuous improvements so that your investment in us always feels worthwhile.
Hey man,
Thank you for your response. I’m sorry, but I still don’t fully understand your point.
Regarding the lifetime offer, isn’t the primary goal of partnering with AppSumo to build a strong base of clients who are less likely to switch to competitors because they already have access to your app, who will become ambassadors, bring feedback, and feel part of a journey?
By offering this lifetime deal, you’re essentially establishing the foundational user base for your company and product.
In the long run, having super-committed and delighted ambassadors is ten times more profitable than having very first customers who already feel like they’re missing an important pivotal feature of the app they still paid for.
Now, I don’t know your financial plan—maybe then the lifetime should be more expensive to cover your expenses. What I’m saying is, app continuity in 2025 doesn’t appear to me as an upsell but as a primary feature of a good product.
Applications like Bear, Notion, and Evernote have strong, stable foundations with proven, functional features and a reliable client base that trusts them because they feel like, “Yeah, this app is all I needed" Your app is still in development, and while it shows promise, the features aren’t yet outstanding or truly differentiating. Your market position isn’t solidified yet and is probs precarious
When these established apps decide to fully integrate speech-to-text AI, they will outpace you unless you find a way to differentiate your offering. Without a groundbreaking innovation, the only way to compete with these giants is through excellent customer service that meets user needs and builds trust.
Anyway, cheers, happy New Year, and all the best for Letterly! 🫶🏻
