Q: Do I really need SES account?

Hi,
Suppose my LTD credit is finished and I should pay $0.40 for 1000 emails for Mailbuster.
What does it mean?
Does it mean that above $0.40 includes both using your platform for 1000 emails and also includes 1000 emails to send?
Or does it mean that above price is only to use your platform for 1000 emails and we should purchase email credits separately from SES?

A: Hi, thank you for asking.
Once you’ve used up your LTD email credits, the $0.40 fee is just MailBluster’s platform charge for every 1,000 emails (our normal rate is $0.60). You’ll also get a separate Amazon SES bill —usually about $0.10 per 1,000 emails, and it can even be free if you’re still within AWS’s free tier which is super cost effective. There’s no extra yearly subscription, so you’ll just see two charges: one from us at $0.40/1,000 emails and one from SES at $0.10/1000 emails.
Hope that clears things up! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you but more details are needed.
Is it mandatory that I create Amazon SES account and verify my domain with Amazon SES or all verification process and payment to SES is managed via Mailbuster?
In other words, I don't want to create Amazon SES account, so how should I use Mailbuster?

Currently, MailBluster uses Amazon SES as an SMTP server to send emails. So yes, it is mandatory to create your own Amazon SES (AWS) account and connect it with MailBluster. Once connected, you can verify your sender domains directly from within MailBluster.

MailBluster and AWS billing are completely separate—you'll be billed by AWS for SES usage, and separately by MailBluster. Your SES usage and billing stay on your AWS account.
At the moment only Amazon SES is supported, but very soon we will rollout Postmark and MailGun integration. Check out our public roadmap: https://mailbluster.com/public-roadmap#/10/
