VERY unpolished...

I REALLY wanted to love this product. I mean, on paper, it sounds like the perfect design tool ever.

Unfortunately, after playing around with it for an hour or so, I'm sad to say that it's definitely not ready yet. Here's why:

• Despite setting up a brand kit, I couldn't find how to apply it to content generated by MolyPix. This might be my mistake, but then again: I did put some effort into trying to find it. Either way, this should be a seamless feature – and it's not. This means that I struggled with creating "on-brand" content. I guess I could, technically, set up a custom color palette for each brand, and add the logo manually every time. But then: what's the whole point of having a brand kit in the first place?

• I tried generating LinkedIn posts... and the results so far have been not great (even when using the built in prompt enhancer). The posts I've managed to create kind of miss the point, they're bland, and would really struggle to stand out anywhere.

• When it comes to editing the generated content, I was met by an unintuitive, clunky, and very limited editor. All layers are svgs, which means you barely get ~10% of the flexibility that other tools like Canva or Pixelied offer. The build in AI tools (like AI edit) are fun to play around with, but don't work well enough to actually be used for content creation.

• The "Generate similar" feature sounds amazing in theory, but the results just aren't there either. Additionally, you can't prompt the tool to tell it what you like about a particular image, and what you'd like to change. This leads to random and unpredictable results, meaning you'll have to waste A LOT of time (and credits) to get anywhere close to what you want.

• There's practically no way to ensure brand consistency... As far as I could tell, there's no way to create your own templates, give detailed brand guidelines, build a knowledge base and, or give visual or textual references about what design practices you want implemented.

• Resizing does not work. At least not well... A LOT of manual tweaking is needed to make resizing work to acceptable – but still not perfect – degree.

All-in-all, the overly simplistic nature of the tool means that you have very little control over the output. The AI-features are meh; and then you're somewhat limited in how (and how easily) you can edit the final results. If you're used to tools like Canva, Pixelied, etc, then this will be a huge disappointment.

While I like the general concept behind this tool (which is the only reason I'm adding +1 taco on my otherwise 1-taco review), it's sadly an unfinished, unpolished, and overall disappointing product. I say "sadly", because I had REALLY high hopes for this one: it would have been such a great addition to our content creation workflow IF it worked as intended.

I'll wait and see how much the devs can improve this product in the upcoming weeks, but as of now, I'm leaning towards refunding it and sticking with Canva & Pixelied.
