Q: About updates and cons

This user here had several cons noted:
https://appsumo.com/products/mymemo/reviews/useless-for-organizing-326801/

They are important to me, and I would like to know if they are fixed and improved. If yes, it is worth buying and trying; if not, it is useless to buy as "my own memo" is still working and filtering information.
Thank you for your answer in advance.

A: Dear,

Thanks so much for your question. Here is the detail.

Just to share a little about our original design philosophy:
MyMemo was created with the vision that you shouldn’t need to organize anything at all—not even automatically. We wanted to help you skip the entire organizing step and simply rely on AI to bring back what you need, when you need it. That’s why some features that might feel “missing” compared to traditional tools, like sub-collections, were intentionally left out.

However, we’ve also heard similar feedback from you and other users. While AI is powerful, it’s not perfect yet. So, we are actively working to improve the experience and make MyMemo even better for everyone. Here’s a quick update on the points you raised:

No pagination: This is intentional! Our core belief is that you shouldn’t need to manually browse through items—just ask AI, and it should bring the right content to you. This approach won’t change, but we will keep improving the AI’s retrieval capabilities to make it even more seamless.

Returning to the top (item 1) when navigating back: Yes, this is frustrating—we totally agree. Our team is working on a fix for this right now, and we’ll get it sorted as soon as possible!

Sub-collections: While we originally hoped users wouldn’t need to organize like in old-school tools (like Windows folders or Google Drive), we’ve decided to add sub-collections soon. This will offer more flexibility for those who prefer a bit more structure.

Editing content: This one’s a bit tricky. The content in MyMemo isn’t just displayed as-is—it’s been vectorized for AI understanding. Allowing edits directly would affect how the AI retrieves and processes your data. So, at this stage, we don’t plan to support direct editing of the content. But you can always add notes in the sidebar, and we’ll keep improving that experience.

Tags system: Totally hear you! We’re launching a brand-new tagging system next month, making it more precise and useful for filtering content. Stay tuned!

Rich-text notes: Right now, notes only support plain text (no formatting or links). But yes, we’ll upgrade this in future versions so you can add richer notes with links, formatting, etc.

Ask Memo (AI search): Rest assured, Ask Memo works with the full content, not just summaries! We’ll make this clearer in the product so there’s no confusion.

Once again, thank you for your thoughtful review. Your feedback helps us grow and improve. MyMemo’s mission is to make knowledge and idea management effortless, and we’re just getting started. We hope to surprise you with exciting updates in the future!

Please feel free to share more thoughts anytime—we’re always here to listen. 💖

Warmly,
The MyMemo Team
