Q: Compare to Collabwriting?
How does MyMemo's AI-based research feature differ from Collabwriting, another AppSumo product from 2-3 years ago? Also, is the content I save/gather put on some secure cloud, or unsecured?
I already have Collabwriting, and I'm trying to justify getting MyMemo, and why I ask.
P.S. Collabwriting's AI (Copilot) goes out and finds snippets (content) that you can query.

Edited Jun 1, 2025A: Hi,DanDalal! Thank you so much for your feedback! We actually weren't aware of Collabwriting before, so we went to check it out.
From what we saw, it seems Collabwriting doesn’t really have much LLM AI functionality — it mostly focuses on search and topic/keyword tagging, which makes sense given it was built 2–3 years ago, before ChatGPT and large language models became widely available.
In contrast, MyMemo is AI-native — the entire product is built on top of large models. You could chat directly with your memos(weblink, youtube, pdf, image, etc.) or collections.
Secondly, Collabwriting appears to focus primarily on highlighting plain text and PDFs, whereas MyMemo is designed to collect and manage multi-modal content — including YouTube videos, webpages, images, tweets, emails, and more. It's more of a personal knowledge database across all your daily content.
Lastly, MyMemo offers some fun AI-powered review features — for example, it automatically turns what you read each day into an AI-generated podcast that gets delivered to you the next morning for easy review.
That said, Collabwriting is also a great product — especially impressive that they started building it three years ago! Each tool has its own unique use cases and strengths. 😊
