The best way to envision Nowa is a no-code (likely low-code in the future is my guess) application builder for building Firebase, Supabase, Airtable, etc. apps. This makes it a direct competitor to FlutterFlow and Draftbit, not Webflow or Wix as stated.

I have to say that Nowa is way behind where their competition are, but they also seem to be taking a much cleaner approach, and that really improves speed. But Nowa is so early that this feels more like an alpha test more than a beta. I’d view this as the pre-release of the still unfinished MVP.

In the builder there are a lot of missing items. For me, that means no audio or video players, but for you that will mean something completely different. But, the UI is very nice and clean and runs much faster than the competing Flutter/Dart app builders.

Compared to other app builders that have been on Appsumo… this is an actual builder… not a “pick a page template and customize it with your data” type of builder we’ve seen before. And Nowa isn’t completely ugly like some of those tools. Those things alone get Nowa a taco or two that they otherwise haven’t earned yet elsewhere. But, as a builder that also means they’re not a host. You won’t be doing anything but building your apps here. Seek hosting for your web apps elsewhere, it appears.

Pros:
✅ Outline pane is great! Comfortable for those coming from other builders.

✅ The UI is extremely clean and sleek. Fast responding UI and previews.

Cons:
⛔Need a zoom slider and a “recenter view” button. I keep losing my pages on the canvas because dialogs make them zoom out and zoom far away.

⛔Widgets. Please separate these out by categories like: Widgets, Templates, and Elements. You’re stuck searching through all of these just to find what you want if you don’t immediately know it by name. Take inspiration from the drag-and-drop style that Flutterflow, Draftbit, Webflow, Sitejet, etc. all take. It works.

⛔Widgets. Please add more. There’s very little I can do with just text. Audio players, video players, etc. all needed. (Only YouTube is present and you have to dig for it, see Con #2). I know you say a video player is present now… but there’s not one in the widgets search pane.

⛔No audio player. As mentioned above, audio players are a necessity for me.

⛔Scrollview threw me off. I know that’s a Flutter thing and not your tool, but I was stumped for several minutes as to why scroll view wasn’t applied to the point I thought your preview was broken.

⛔Need more training on how to integrate data sources (Supabase, Airtable, Sheets, etc.) and for how to add custom Dart code or Flutter widgets to the app.

A very good start, but unless you’re just looking for a clean and fast Flutter interface without much onboarding or training assistance, you’d still be better off at one of the competitors for the first few projects to get the additional features, community, and integrations. With that said, I’m grabbing a license for when Nowa’s development and my own skillset better align and I want to pump out some apps.
