We’ve now implemented a new screenshot engine in the PeekShot dashboard that includes improved font support, including better rendering for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK) text.
Please give it a try and let us know if it resolves the issue for you — we’d love your feedback!
A: Great question — and we completely understand your concern!
While the screenshots are stored on our S3 bucket (e.g., URLs like https://peekshot.s3...), the images themselves are clean and contain no PeekShot branding. The URL includes our domain (peekshot.s3...) because it's hosted on our AWS S3, but there's no visible branding on the image itself.
A: Great question! Currently, PeekShot does not support specifying a custom filename directly when generating the screenshot. The API returns a unique URL with an auto-generated name.
That said, once you download the image from the URL, you're free to rename and store it using any filename you prefer on your end.
We appreciate the suggestion — custom filenames is something we’re considering for...
It is very useful to be able to freely customize the file name with the date and time of shooting, domain, and other strings of characters. I'm sure there are times when we would like to provide an image to a client with that file name. Many screenshot tools on the Mac allow us to do that.
Q: Can I save images created via the API to my own storage?
I am using an another API image generator, but it does not have a service to store the images on the service side. That use case does not make sense to me.
A: By default, PeekShot uploads all screenshots to our AWS S3 storage and provides you with a shareable link right away.
Currently, PeekShot does not support connecting your own storage bucket or offering alternative storage options directly through our platform. However, you can easily download the images using the provided URL and then upload and store them in your preferred storage system on...
A: You can 100% use PeekShot to serve your clients. Whether you're an agency, freelancer, or SaaS founder, PeekShot is built to be integrated into your own tools, dashboards, or automation workflows.
You can generate screenshots for client websites, monitor changes, create reports, or build value-added services on top of our API — all within your usage limits. Many of our users are already using...
Q: CJK Text Rendering Issue
The screenshot feature works well, but Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text displays as garbled characters.
Could the development team install CJK font support on the screenshot servers?
I recommend the free open-source Google Noto CJK fonts for comprehensive character coverage.

Q: Where does your product name appear in the process of using your product?
I don't mind it being displayed to me, but I don't want anyone but me to know that I am using your product.

Is there any possibility of screenshots being blocked?
While PeekShot uses reliable browser automation, some sites with strict bot protection or complex authentication might block screenshots.
To help, we support:
- Using your own proxy to reduce blocking chances.
- Passing custom headers to allow PeekShot access even behind protections like Cloudflare.
