The current affiliate link format https://your-website.com?ref=affiliate-username can be improvised with out mentioning the words like "ref" or "aff" or the id in the url. If you shorten the link, or obscure the part after "?" without explicitly using the above mentioned words, it may help a lot in coversion/sharing. Please consider this.
