Q: Do you need a license to stream music?

I used to have an online radio station for 8 years using Shoutcast and Centova Cast as the programming platform. When I received an email from ASCAP asking me to not playing their registered music (all of them) I stop streaming from that day. Now that streaming music is a big business I wonder if your platform will be affected as well.

As I said, ASCAP is the one ruling in USA and is very expensive. Your article says you do need to pay ASCAP in order to stream music with your app. Thanks for the link.

interesting article (that you copied from another site… ) I would expect radiolize to track the licensing requirements for me, like which songs, how many listeners have to be reported to wich entity. Does it do that?
