Q: Ability to slip the start/end points beyond the clip
I've paid up and am using reap at the moment. Can you tell me a little bit about the improvements you're planning for the editor window? I'm finding that start (and particularly end) points of clips are not brilliant. It'll cut off half way through the word after the transcript end. Or it will pick up a sentence at a pause when the first word was missed and is needed. I'd be looking for the ability to slide the in and out points to adjust manually, even if that means starting a clip earlier than the point reap thinks it should begin and ending at a later point than reap gave me. As things stand at the moment, I can only make a reap clip shorter by starting later or finishing earlier within the clip it has selected. Perhaps include a 5 second buffer at either end of the reap render to allow this flexibility.
A: Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting this issue. We have recently upgraded our pipeline with a fine-tuned AI model, and in our internal testing, the results have been optimal. However, there may still be occasional cases like the one you described. It would be very helpful if you could reach out to us via in-app chat support or email at hello@reap.video so we can look into your...
A: Yes, to some extent this is still possible, but it can be a bit tricky at the moment. However, with our new video editor releasing in about two weeks, you’ll have a dedicated panel specifically for editing and adjusting captions, making it much easier to correct any timeframes that the AI gets wrong.
Hi! It seems we can only select video clips longer than 2 mins. Are there any plans in the near future to allow shorter video clips? My use case is shorter testimonials (30-90 secs usually), that I want to cut into shorter sections.
A: Yes, we’re already testing support for 30-second videos. Will be live in 2 days. Could you share more about your use case? Specifically, what duration would you like the output clips to be when working with videos in the 30-90 second range?
Thx for the quick reply and awesome! I think around 10-30 sec clips, leaning towards 10-20 sec, would be nice. My use case are video testimonials or short walkthrough of books from customers.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are currently testing this functionality and will let you know as soon as we achieve optimal results. We expect to support your requested clip durations very soon.
Q: Aspect conversion / reframe when clips are made?
Hi, we shoot all our interviews in 16:9 widescreen to create our finished edited content. I'm looking at something like reap as a way of using material that would otherwise end up on the cutting room floor - feed in the original entire interview (typically 15 mins or so) and let it loose to pull out clips. We only have one interview subject in frame at a time. So is reap able to reframe the shot when it makes clips so we just see the subject, cropped as 9:16 or 1:1 for socials? Or does reap have to keep the 16:9 original frame and add the blurred background thing top and bottom to make a social clip? Thanks
A: Thanks for your question. reap can automatically reframe your 16:9 interview footage for social formats like 9:16 (vertical) or 1:1 (square). When generating clips, our system detects the subject and centers them in the new aspect ratio, so you get a focused crop rather than just adding blurred borders. Blur background top or bottom, are also added in some shorts where content needs it, and as...

Will there be a possibility to edit time frames for some words that are timeframed wrongly by AI?
