Good, but still many improvements needed
I just purchased the Lifetime Deal of Reap.video. It shows a lot of potential, but there are a few areas that need improvement.
First, I noticed that the dubbing feature is not currently available in my account. I hope this is something the team plans to add soon, as it’s an important feature for repurposing content across languages.
The clip generation also needs some refinement. For instance, when I input a video titled “7 Habits of Rich People”, the tool correctly detects the introduction—“In this video, I will teach you 7 habits…”—but the resulting short only includes the first 2 or 3 habits before abruptly ending. Ideally, it should condense and highlight all 7 habits within the short format (like a 10-minute video summarized into a 90-second short). This is definitely doable with the right summarization logic.
Regarding the Instagram auto-uploading and scheduling—it's great that this feature is already available. However, it really needs an option to select a custom thumbnail or at least choose a frame from the video. Currently, some clips end up with a blank black frame as the cover image, which isn’t appealing or effective for engagement.
Lastly, I’d love to see auto-upload support for Facebook Pages added in the future.
Overall, I see strong potential in Reap.video, and I’m optimistic that with continued updates, it can become a top-tier tool in the short-form content space.

May 13, 2025Thank you so much for your kind words and trust in us. It means a lot to our team.
We have some exciting updates coming soon. Dubbing will go live this week, or early next week at the latest. We are working to integrate dubbing with captions, and plan to offer reframing as a standalone tool. This way, you can choose to caption and dub, or reframe, caption, and dub all at once. At first, we will launch dubbing as its own tool as soon as possible. The main work is done, we just need to finish some infra scaling work.
We are also upgrading our clipping. This will happen in two stages over the next few days. The first stage will help synthesize clips and prompts better, and fix quirks like the one you saw. For example, it should have suggested “7 habits.” The second stage will add visual understanding, so you get even better clips.
We are adding more content options too. Soon you will be able to prompt and generate blogs or custom social posts.
We hear your feedback on thumbnails. We will add the ability to provide or choose thumbnails from video, adding this to feature tracker.
We are also working on more social media integrations including facebook. Our goal is to make our publisher tool generic, so you can publish and schedule all types of content in one place, not just shorts.
Thank you again for your support and belief in us. Your feedback motivates us to keep improving reap for you.
