Unfortunately, I bought several monitoring tools before discovering RobotALP. The major issue with all the others is that they can't effectively prevent false positives. The ones that do manage this rely on IP whitelisting and/or status codes exceptions, which is a hassle since we cannot always whitelist IPs, IPs can change, and exceptions are not the ideal way to go.

There's no point in receiving alerts that our monitored services are offline, only to find out later that they're actually online (false positives). What happens with other tools is that there are so many false alerts that we start ignoring the notifications. Then, when services are genuinely offline, we miss them because we’ve tuned out the alerts.

With RobotALP, if a check indicates that a service is offline, it automatically performs additional checks using other IPs to confirm if it's truly down (we only need to set this up one time). We can set up to 10 IPs from different countries, ensuring that when we receive an offline notification, it’s the real deal.

In short, all the tools I bought prior to RobotALP have turned out to be completely useless... just money down the drain. Here are the ineffective tools I purchased before discovering RobotALP:

Handy tools. They recently added a beta blacklist monitoring and it appears to work well. The uptime monitor looks accurate, and I haven't really used much the other "monitors". I just ran a test for the "pagespeed monitor" and it does appear that the results are significantly different from Google's pagespeed insights, but to be fair they use a different calculator. Hopefully they'll keep developing and improving it.

Excellent tool for the cost. Grab it while you can.

I appreciated how clean the interface looked and how professional it felt. The idea of monitoring so many different parameters at once is great. I think it deserves its price compared to other similar offers at the moment. I have no doubt that it will be much more successful if it continues to maintain its quality.

My only suggestion at the moment would be to update the Historical uptime to 2 years from the License Tier 1. This will be particularly useful for users who are changing hosting services for individuals. This is because many hosting services offer a bigger discount for more than a year.

As everybody else I had to replace Upti**Rob**. I monitor round about 20 websites and switched in one hour, never having seen Robotalp before. Notifications go to my slack channel, status page looks good - so far I am really happy.
