Q: Account Login Inquiry

In the QA, you said: "Your files are stored for the lifetime of your account, provided you log in at least once a year or after the file express expiration date, which you can set in your dashboard."

Does this mean that users must log in at least once a year to keep their accounts active and prevent suspension or deletion?

Thank you.

A: Hi HLM,

While it's not a strict, immediate rule, generally, when you create a file transfer, you have the option to set an expiry date. For instance, if you set an expiry for one week, the file will expire, meaning recipients can no longer access it after those seven days. However, the file itself won't be deleted, it will still be accessible within your admin dashboard where you can reset the expiry date. If you choose 'Never expire,' your recipients will always have access to the transfer. The yearly login requirement primarily addresses situations where lifetime deal customers store hundreds of gigabytes of data but don't log in for extended periods or sometimes never log in again. In such cases, after one year of inactivity, only the transfers you've already set to expire will be considered for deletion. This approach is more flexible than many other paid transfer solutions like WeTransfer or pCloud, which often delete your files immediately after expiry.

To summarize, your account will never be suspended (unless it is against our TOS) And only files which you have not accessed AND that you have set to expire will be deleted after long periods of inactivity. We hope this clarifies things! We appreciate you reading our Q&A.
