Q: Cross domain Tracking

Hi, I've just purchased Tier 2 - love the features so far. super easy to set up

I want to clarify: when subdomain support comes out - what does this mean exactly?

For example, I have a funnel that starts on my main website e.g. mysite1.com, when the user clicks a button, they go to my webinar.mysite2.com site, and then when they click the CTA in my webinar they are directed to my sales funnel on join.mysite3.com

Can I track this user across the various domains & subdomains in the entire funnel?

thanks

Thanks

A: Hi there,

Thank you for your question and patience!

With subdomain tracking, you’ll be able to track users across subdomains throughout the entire funnel. However, tracking users across different domains isn’t supported.

I hope this helps clarify! Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Kiran

Hi, thanks - how about if we use UTM campaigns? would this work?

otherwise, how can we track when using third-party webinar software, landing page software, checkout merchants etc? thanks

If we can only track in one domain, I'm unsure how this can practically be used to monitor traffic through a typical funnel that utilizes third-party tools, as I mentioned above.

Thanks very much for you help

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out!

Yes, SiteBehaviour can perfectly track UTM campaigns. You can track conversions from different campaigns and sources seamlessly.

Subdomain tracking will be supported soon across the same domain, however, cross-domain tracking will not be part of the release; therefore, you would need to create a new website in the workspace and track it separately.
