Q: Understanding the functions and trying to compare
Tried to understand the concept of SlideFill searching for a tool that could help create presentation decks. Tutorials on YouTube also show only that SlideFill is basically turning data in tables into information in available templates. Is that impression right? So, SlideFill is not creating polished pitch decks but only translates boring tables into visually presentable information. I would still have to add a lot of other information manually. Right? SlideFill is not a competitor to Gamma or Beautiful, is that impression correct?
That's correct. Our product currently allows people to ingest data from different tools in order to add the data programmatically to presentations. We're not (yet) creating full polished pitch decks. We don't see ourselves as a competitor of Gamma or Beautiful today.
Happy to elaborate on this further if necessary but I hope this clarifies your questions!
Hi, I previously asked this question, but it was declined due to my phrasing. Would you be considering adding apiXdrive to your roadmap? It's a tool many AppSumo users have, and it's similar to Zapier and Pabbly.
Thank you for your question. We've not heard yet of apiXdrive, but we're happy to look into this tool and see where it fits on the roadmap. We're prioritizing webhooks and an API endpoint to allow users to connect whichever tool they would like in the future.
Would this be sufficient, or would an out of the box solution be required?
Yes, it seems Graphue offers templates in Google Slides and PowerPoint. Both are compatible with SlideFill and can be used. You will need to upload the slides to your Google Drive, add in the variables using { } and they will be ready to use.
Please note Apple's Keynote is currently not supported.

Q: Can we add our own custom {{variables}} & Create our own templates?
I don't see this info on the sales page anywhere but for some of our sales presentations, we need to add much more data than the few custom ones you have on there. Are we able to add our own custom fields to it so that it populates with our data?
Also, it seems there are only like 4 templates on slidefill which are pretty limited.
1. Can we use this with the google slides templates? 2. Can we make our own templates?

Yes, there is no limit on the number of variables you can add. Custom variables are definitely possible!
You just need to make sure that the headers used in your data source are exactly the same as what’s in between the {{ }}
For example: if you add a variable {{ custom }} the header of the column in your Sheet should be “custom”.
Thank you for trying out SlideFill! Meg
