Further refinement is still needed in UI/UX development.
I was compelled to request a refund for this product due to ongoing discomfort with its UI/UX. The following are aspects that need improvement:
- The PDF display cannot be further enlarged, which hinders my ability to read the file content in greater detail. Ideally, this should be adjustable dynamically.
- In the latest UI update, there is no filter to select the range of pages to be included in the chat. This is particularly problematic when I want to extract information from specific pages.
Several features that could be developed in the future include:
- The necessity for chat functionality in the form of images, as academic journals often contain diagrams that require specialized explanations.
- The need for prompt initialization, which can be customized for specific types of documents.

MAC OFFLINE NOT WORKING
- Task and Directory Management:
I handle multiple tasks assigned to different workers, each with its own directory and specific folder structure to properly store the corresponding files.
- Error Prevention and System Need:
To avoid disorder or mistakes in file placement, I expected Socrates (in offline mode, since it doesn’t make sense to consume tokens for simple local workflow actions) to assist workers by indicating the correct path for each task.
- Clear and Unambiguous Structure:
The entire root and hierarchy of folders, subfolders, and files is based exactly on the annual action plan. The names are unique, differentiated, and clearly describe the work to be done, eliminating any possible confusion.
- Problems with the Socrates:
When a task is completed and we need to confirm the correct directory to store it, Socrates always gets confused. It is unable to guide users, even when given all the necessary information to identify the appropriate location. This issue persists despite the clarity and uniqueness of the folder structure.
- Comparison vs Gemini:
The same request was made to Gemini, which was able to guide correctly and identify the right directory almost instantly and without errors.
**Local Deep Dive very soon** about it, means what? we will have a solution for my case or not?

Jun 4, 2025If I'm understanding you correctly, we don't support searching across chats. Folders and subfolders are only for your personal organization. The AI doesn't know about files outside of the chat itself.
Furthermore, offline chatting will be revamped in a couple weeks. We'll be releasing Local Deep Dive very soon.

Not ready yet
Gives erroneous output, and skips evaluation of many files uploaded in the chat.
not satisfactory
I uploaded 40 applicant files applying for a particular job vacancy with one of our client. (We are placement consultant by profession).
it gave reply for 3-4 files, and then nothing. Again i prompted to give reply for all, it said you have uploaded 5 files there are no other files. Then i prompted again and it gave reply for another 4-5 files from the previously uploaded files.
In the next experiement, i uploaded only 4 files which i myself had shortlisted for the position and asked it to evaluate. It gave total wrong evaluation for 2 out of 4 files. When i corrected, it revised the rating from 7 to 9 out of 10.
Dont go for it unless there is Chatgpt Support. Currently i think it only gives reply based on Deepseek.

May 30, 2025Hello, this certainly doesn't match the experience of other users. It sounds like you weren't using Deep Dive, which returns a max of 5 most relevant answers? I believe I'm in conversation with you over support to help you get the most out of Socrates. Feel free to message me there with a link to your specific chat so I can help you get the best experience!

Game changer for document analysis
The AI-powered analysis is very accurate, you just need to upload your PDFs and Socrates will quickly provide accurate answers and summaries. It’s saved me hours on research and creating notes for my exams.
The interface is very easy to use, and the support team is very quick to respond, is very helpful and more than willing to answer questions. Any bugs I’ve encountered were fixed despite taking some time, and I’ve noted consistent updates with new features and integrations. While some advanced features are still in development, the pace of improvement is impressive.
Pros:
* Huge time-saver for research and study
* Accurate, context-aware document analysis
* User-friendly interface
* Excellent support and updates come consistently
Cons:
* Some advanced features and integrations are still being rolled out, but the team is clearly listening to user feedback
* Doesn't support images, mostly text, however force OCR is available in tier 4 plan.
* They do beta testing straight on the website or app, breaking down a lot of the functionality if you're caught in it. Bugs might appear cause of that too.
However, I will still highly recommend Socrates.im to anyone who deals with large amounts of text. It’s reliable, effective, and keeps getting better. The developers interact with the customers for feedback and emailing support is a breeze and help is easy to get. Overall, an easy 4.5 or 5 tacos.

Great Result but UX needs improvement
I am very pleased with the results I got from Socrates AI after a few tests. The AI outputs are much better and more usable compared to other similar competitor products in AS. However, I believe several critical improvements could help Socrates advance even further ahead of the competition:
1. Reusable deep-dived documents – Currently, the processed (tokenized) documents can only be linked to one chat. I would like all processed documents to be stored in user-defined folders and available for selection in future new chats. This would save a tremendous amount of re-processing resources for the same document.
2. Currently, there is no way to specify a particular document from the tokenized documents within chat prompts. I hope an @function can be implemented to specifically target the retrieval of a document. Sometimes I want to specify a document for context, and other docs for content.
3. I can’t seem to get the folder structure to work. It would be helpful to have a folder structure for both chats and documents.
Overall, Socrates AI has tremendous potential for deep-dive retrieval AI applications. I hope it remains in business for a long time.
