Imagine your account being held hostage and charged $30 just to update your email — that’s exactly what you get with SUPERMACHINE 🤡
I’ve bought over 100 deals here on AppSumo alone, and SUPERMACHINE may have just set a new low in terms of shady business practice and ripping off paying customers.
I purchased multiple tiers of this tool in 2023 but never really got around to using the platform. Recently, I needed to update the email address tied to my account — a basic, routine request that nearly every modern SaaS platform allows users to freely handle themselves within their account settings. SUPERMACHINE, however, blocks users from making this change and forces you to contact support — which I did.
And here’s where things gets ridiculous:
The founder, Stuart (aka username "Rexxar" here on AppSumo), replied to my support ticket with a Stripe payment link for an “Email Update Fee” — demanding $30 USD just to update my account email. Here’s a screenshot of the payment page and reasoning:

"Email Update Fee – Operating an AI image generator comes with challenges in regards to keeping content safe. This means when we do an email update, we need to process checks on the emails and keep a breadcrumb trail of the account in question to ensure that no bad actors are allowed onto our platform. This fee is to cover that additional process."
Let that absurdity sink in — a full $30 just to change your email address!
Processes like "email validation" and "account history tracking" are internal decisions made solely for their own system integrity and benefits. But instead of taking responsibility and ownership over their self-adopted procedures, SUPERMACHINE cunningly shifts that additional cost to us, the paying users — as if we're supposed to foot the bill to "clean" their email list for them.
Like most users in this digital age, I probably have well over a hundred online accounts — from SaaS tools to essential services like banks and ecommerce platforms — and never once have I been charged a silly fee like this just to update basic account info. Even IF a fee *might* be justified, it would need a very compelling reason, clearly explained upfront on the deal page, and should be a trivial amount (like $2-3 max) — not $30 for pressing Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V. Come on; it's just laughable.
Most online services:
1. Let you change your email instantly, for free.
2. If not, support handles it manually on the backend — again, for free.
3. Or, they simply don’t allow changes, in which case you may have to create a new account.
SUPERMACHINE is merely another AI image generator — one among many in a crowded market. Yet for some reason, Stuart treats basic account maintenance like we’re requesting a change to the nuclear launch codes or something 😂
This isn’t just bad UX — it’s a complete ripoff and borderline exploitative. Especially since nowhere on the AppSumo deal page is this absurd policy disclosed, coupled with the fact that this deal is also non-refundable, unlike most other deals on this platform that offer 60-day guaranteed refunds.
At this point, I don’t care how good or bad the product is. The audacity to charge a fee — a ridiculous $30 at that — just to update our email address shows greed, a lack of respect for customers, and deeply questionable ethics from the company and its founder.
As expected, I replied to Stuart refusing to pay such a foolish fee and instead requested that it be done free of charge like any other service, as I provided evidence of my original purchase (including payment date and AppSumo invoice ID). It’s now been nearly a week since and, of course, no response — just convenient, greedy silence, trying to hold my account hostage until he rips off $30 from another customer (which he won't).
My advice to fellow AppSumo buyers considering SUPERMACHINE?
Stay far away. Skip this deal and choose from the many other legit AI image tools available — none of which charge a stupid fee just to change your email address. And if you're an existing customer like myself; I suggest leaving a honest review here and on other review sites like TrustPilot/G2 to warn others of this company's unethical business practices.
Shame on Stuart and SUPERMACHINE for being shady and cheap over something as simple as updating an account email. I personally won’t be buying anything from them ever again.

May 7, 2025Offering an uncensored image platform comes with risks and unfortunately can attract the wrong people who try to create illegal content. We have a lot stricter policies in place due to this when it comes to changing email addresses and ensuring that previously banned individuals do not access the platform. It is also against Appsumo's terms to resell accounts. It does cost us money to keep a register of illegal users who have attempted to produce CSAM type material. We take our obligations seriously to keep Supermachine operating safely for everyone.
Stay far away from this deal if you are incapable of setting up an account with an email address that you actually use. It is rather incredible the amount of email change address requests that come from one segment of customers rather than others who signup directly on our website. Why is that? Why should we waste our time on such matters?
Why do monthly or annual paying customers never ask for email addresses to be changed? I am rather curious. We have never had one of these users ask to change their email address out of the thousands we have on our platform. I am sorry if you think that CSAM should be allowed to run rife on our platform and if this makes us shady and cheap, I'll proudly wear that tag.
