Good - EXCEPT - Chatbot asks users if they'd like a discount - TERRIBLE "FEATURE"!

Overall, I liked the tool. However, they just added a "feature" which is asking the customer if they'd like a discount. This is absolutely awful and should be removed immediately. At minimum, this should be an option that you can toggle on or off.

Unfortunately, I will be disabling VanChat and getting a refund right away as it is not a feature that can be powered off. When I contacted support about it, they said it cannot be powered off, but I can request that as a future roadmap addition.

Hi
I'm Lucas, the founder of VanChat. First of all, thank you very much for your recognition of VanChat. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and value your input, as it genuinely helps us improve our product faster. Indeed, we recognize there are areas where we could have done better.

Let me share our initial thought process openly with you: the reason we initially included the "Get Discount" button prominently when proactively introducing product highlights was because we believed that presenting the product with an accompanying discount button would significantly encourage shoppers to make purchases, thereby increasing conversion rates. Of course, we considered providing merchants with an option to disable this "Get Discount" button, allowing them to decide its visibility.

When you previously reached out to us, we did discuss this issue internally. At that time, we believed most merchants would benefit from having this button displayed. Introducing a toggle to disable the button would have added complexity to the product settings, somewhat contradicting our original design philosophy. Our goal has always been to make VanChat as simple and straightforward as possible, enabling merchants to utilize it without spending significant time configuring settings. Therefore, we initially decided to observe for a while longer, considering implementing the toggle if more users requested this feature. Hence, I suggested that you submit this idea to our future roadmap.

However, after receiving your feedback and the screenshots you shared, we conducted another in-depth discussion internally, which has changed our perspective. We now realize that proactively displaying the "Get Discount" button can inadvertently affect the perceived value or branding of certain products. For example, some merchants who position themselves as premium brands may never offer discounts, and a prominently displayed discount button could conflict with their brand image and negatively impact product perception. This would clearly disadvantage those merchants. Consequently, we've decided that it’s best to immediately provide a toggle switch so that merchants can choose whether or not to display the "Get Discount" button.

Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. Your input has allowed us to reflect and has given us the opportunity to make meaningful improvements to our product.

Best,
Lucas
