Q: Two questions 1.

Can users comment on the videos? can I choose who would be users to platform? Is it possible to white label it e.g. for teaching academy?

2. There was a software called 'BerryCast' on appsumo few years back who mentioned unlimited hosted videos only to change their offering to 20 hours each user recently. Caused lot of frustration in users, me being one of them.
I understand the enthusiasm of having unlimited hosting, but may I know how are you going to support that? Do you have funding secured?

A: Hey There! Sorry for the late response. We didn't get an update for this question.

1. We haven't released our comment feature yet. We're working on our infra changes to make sure Vento can continue to scale. But we'll be introducing this very soon!

2. No users just yet. We'll be making a version of Vento that allow you to add users. As a note, adding additional users more than likely would be an additional cost.

3. No white labeling at this moment. We're not sure we'll add this in the future. We might do custom viewing pages which will allow you to add your logo and colors. :) But that may be as far as we go.

4. Yep, we're aware of Berrycast. Here's what makes us different - we use scalable architecture like cloud run to lower our costs. Instead of having servers on 24.7 to support any users at any time, we only spin up servers when you request them. No request, No servers, no cost. No sure what happened with Berrycast but our storage costs are manageable. Our non appsumo paid customers cover easily cover our server and storage costs.

We have full committment to our Appsumo customers. We won't pull the rug as Berrycast did.

Probably the problem with Berrycast was that you could upload your own video materials from outside. And maybe people were abusing it.

Not sure what their circumstances were but it sounds like they didn't manage their costs well. At Vento, we prioritize cost and service before tons of new features...maybe to our detriment at times :)
