First off, a million thanks to Vista for honoring Crello's previous LTDs. I've used VistaCreate since the merger and have been pleasantly surprised. Granted, I use it mostly to make YouTube thumbnails, so my use case is fairly small.

Its background removal tool is just stellar. There have been times when I hoped it would "understand" what I was trying to keep (for example - me looking at or holding a houseplant without the background) and nails it 99% of the time (AKA the houseplant wasn't erased).

The templates, at least for YouTube, I don't find to be useful "out of the box," so all will require some tweaking, but they're still good for giving me a jumping-off point that I might not have previously thought of, so bonus points for the "inspo appeal!"

In terms of negative, I have two:
1) The tools are somewhat lacking, especially as compared to Canva, and I'd really like to see more options put there, including a selective brush feature.

2) Also, the resizing gets weird if you go outside the image boundaries, like if you're trying to fill the background with a certain image and said image needs to be blown up. When that happens, it seems like the coding or whatever backend language doesn't understand to "release" the image when the mouse releases it, so you're stuck with it being resized as your mouse moves. That's pretty frustrating. It usually requires me refreshing the page to break the connection.

But despite these flaws, it hasn't stopped me from using it as my primary thumbnail builder. If you need an image editor with just enough features to be useful, VistaCreate is worth it. Just understand that you're not getting a full stack Canva, more like Canva lite or circa 5-6 years ago.
