Love it a lot, but there are some issues...
I really loved the extensive feature list of VMaker and I also had a great chat with the support team who were really helpful. I've tried Clipboard, Berrycast, Sendspark, Vadootv and Quickpage. I was looking for a easy to use, quick video recorder that can record both screen & webcam, make nice shareable video pages (preferably having the option to create playlist like Quickpage), make edits to the video (trimming, adding overlays and CTAs), have big/unlimited storage, deleteable videos, possibility to create folders & manage different brands, and add team members who have different permissions.
Features that are UNIQUE to VMaker compared to the other solutions:
- UNLIMITED storage!
- Annotations
- Customizable webcam bubble ('frames' are changeable)
- Blur portions of the screen when recording (not released yet, but it will be very useful - hope it will WORK)
- Limit the lifespan of the video (auto delete after X days)
- Video editor (no need to export to iMovie or other software to trim, crop, etc)
- SCHEDULED recording
Why I'm taking off 2 tacos:
- Whenever I start a recording, it slows down my computer/connection a LOT. I've tried to record webinars and walk-throughs on a Zoom call, but the Zoom video got stuck very often and causing a lot of lag. I had to stop the recording several times in a 2-way call because the other party couldn't hear me because of the lag. So unfortunately I cannot really use it to record Zoom calls. The recording resolution is set on on Auto.
- The video landing pages are too branded and there's a CTA to try out VMaker for free. We cannot use it for clients because it's very unprofessional and looks as if we're using a free software.
- No way to customise to match our brand the landing page.
- No CTAs
- When people reply via VMaker (landing page), they must sign in. That's a big no go and another reason why this tool can only be used internally and not for clients.
- The link that you paste to share in social media doesn't give a nice preview and doesn't inceltivize people to click
Wishlist:
- Closed captions (most people watch video without sound)
- Editable landing page
- Adding CTAs (like SendSpark and Vadootv)
- Video playlist (like Quickpage and WarmWelcome)
- More advanced editing features
- Limit the domain where the video can be embedded/played (like Vadootv and Vimeo)
I'm still thinking if I should refund or not. I love VMaker a lot, but the dealbreakers for me are:
1) The LAG when recording
2) The branded & not adjustable landing pages
Hope this will improve and with a few more features this is the best tool on the market for quick video recording!

May 9, 2024Hey Happy-Sumo
Thanks a lot for trying our tool and sharing your thoughts here. I went through them in detail and wanted to share my comments on the same.
Thanks for bringing the issue with the recording zoom call, we haven’t heard this so far and will definitely look into this asap.
The issues around branding on the player page will be closed this week. Users will have the option to customize the branding on the player page to match their brand color and add their logo to it. Tier 5 users will also get a CNAME in addition to this
Unfortunately, to use the tool, you have to sign in. To reduce the hassle, you can add your customers to your team and later remove them.
We have it in our roadmap to have the option to add a custom thumbnail for previews.
We have just launched an updated version and this should solve all lag issues. Our team is happy to sort this out with you.
We are not going for the retainer here, we are going to win the additional two tacos from you ;)
