Overhyped and Underdelivered. Why I Can’t Trust Vocable AI
I was curious about all the hype surrounding Vocable AI, so I decided to give it a proper test. Unfortunately, the results were disappointing. The long-form SEO article I generated scored as high as 86.21 on an AI detection tool, which is falmost 100% of AI written content, far from what I’d expect for high-quality content and it made me question the reliability of Vocable’s own scoring system. It felt misleading and hard to trust.
I also spent a lot of time customizing and fine-tuning the brand voice feature, only to realise it wasn’t even being applied across the other tools within the platform. That alone was a major red flag.
Honestly, I don’t understand how this product has received so many 5-taco reviews, or why anyone would consider paying for the white-label Agency plan. The overall quality just doesn’t match the promise. With ChatGPT and other AI tools in my stack, I’m able to get significantly better results, faster and with more flexibility.
It’s a real letdown, because I had high hopes for this to become one of my top 20 tools for my agency. But as it stands, I simply can’t rely on it.

I do want to push back on the idea that this was a “proper test.” Basing an entire review on one SEO article and an AI detection score, especially from tools widely known to be unreliable feels like a narrow lens for evaluating a platform designed to be more about streamlining multi-channel content strategy at scale than technical SEO writing. But I still appreciate and welcome this as a teachable moment to anyone reading this.
Since your review title is about 'Trust' and judging the article's quality based on an AI detection score: AI detectors are at the VERY top of the list of tools to not trust (and not an accurate benchmark of the actual content quality and impact), I mean especially if you're writing formal professional content (like SEO blogs). Many falsely flag even human-written content as AI (often 50–70%), and they wildly disagree with each other. These tools often pick up on metadata, structure, or formality (which leads to the false positives/negatives), they don't pick up on true originality or storytelling (which is what i'd care more about as a marketer!).
I myself have written an article (without any help of AI) and ran it through AI detectors and came back between 73-85% AI, when I messed up punctuations, and sentence structures, grammar and made it sound dumbed down and super informal, then the score went down to 25%... not something I'd trust but that's just me. But everyone has a different process and opinion and I respect yours.
But my piece of advice is: If you're genuinely trying to assess content quality, don't look for AI vs. human “tells". Look for clarity, emotional value and resonance, original angles, and whether the story actually connects. That's what moves audiences, not a percentage on a detection tool.
Also, if you're only using Vocable like a basic writing tool, you're likely missing the bigger value prop. That said, we also know that vocable doesn't fit every workflow :)
