Yes, it’s absolutely possible to display the OGP preview in X and even override the default preview, including the title, description, and image.
Here’s how: • Once you paste your long URL into the left panel, you can either add your OGP settings or edit the existing OGP for the link. • Occasionally, browser cache may cause the old OGP to appear. To confirm the current OGP...
Even if not overridden, general link shortening products on X will display links with OGP images. However, this does not happen on Cutme. The link URL is simply displayed.
This behavior is unusual, as CutMe Short links are designed to display both default and overridden OGP on X. So this shouldn't happen.
I just checked now on X for CutMe Short link OGP is loading.
To investigate this further and assist you better, can you drop a mail to support@cutmeshort.com, if required, we will also set up a call to resolve this issue.
Hello, Request you to try once again, if still not able to see OGP, kindly drop your mail at support@cutmeshort.com we will schedule a support call with you. Cheers!
It displayed well. Can the URL in OGP be set to the target URL by default? It's a hassle to overwrite the metadata every time. Also, I want X's OGP to display a large image.
Currently, the URL in the OGP metadata is not automatically set to the target URL by default. We’ll take this as a valuable suggestion and add it to our roadmap. To ensure X displays a large image preview, the og:image tag must point to an image that meets their size requirements (minimum 800 x 418 pixels). If you’re manually setting the metadata you can choose a high-resolution image.
Q: A/B Testing (Link Rotator) and URL Cloaking?
Do you have A/B Testing (Link Rotator) and URL Cloaking (Hide the original destination URL and display the current Short URL in the browser)?
A/B Testing (Link Rotator) is currently in our planning phase, and we’re working on introducing innovative elements to make it more impactful. If everything goes as planned, we’re aiming for a release around March.
As for URL Cloaking, it’s on our bucket list and will be rolled out soon. We completely understand how important these features are, and we’re...
Your roadmap feels like it's "frozen". There are lots of features that were "Planned" and already had an ETA/date of release, like BioLink Pages to be released at November 30th, but not even in the "Progress" phase; still at "Planned". Also the same 2 features (that I conside very simple), are in "Progress" for 2 months already.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We want to assure you that development has not stopped—in fact, we’re working more aggressively than ever to deliver features and improvements that add value to your experience.
Many of the planned features have already been implemented. That said, we acknowledge that we could improve the frequency of updates to our roadmap,...
Much appreciated for the detailed response. Although, when do you intend to update the roadmap and also release a new "Update Announcement" at Appsumo salespage with all the new developments/features implemented (last was 26th September). Thanks
Q: Device detection?
hey there, for App Store links, can devices be detected?
e.g. iOS user clicks link, brings them to Apple Store download Android user clicks same link, brings them to Android download
A: Hi Sumo-ling! 👋 Thank you for your question! CutMe Short already offers an Open in App feature built into our short links. As for the functionality you’re asking about—deep linking to automatically detect the user’s device (e.g., redirecting iOS users to the Apple Store and Android users to the Play Store)—this is currently in progress and will be rolled out very soon.
A: Thanks for your question😊! While CutMe Short doesn’t currently offer link rotation, we’re excited to share that traffic distribution and A/B testing are already in our engineering pipeline for future updates. These features will help you optimise your campaigns even further.
In the meantime, we’d love for you to explore our Dynamic UTM feature and detailed analytics, which provide unmatched...
