How does this compare to OpnForm? They were a deal on here I hope to see again, open source and total soc2 self hostable security through their leading gitHub community who has a 1-minute quick setup on railway self host. I am primarily concerned with privacy/security and continuous improvement (founder dedication). How can we be sure the data here is never viewed on your back end?
A: When a comment / question is phrased like that, I always get the feeling the person writing this is somehow affiliated with the other platform and just wants to promote it... well, who knows.
To answer your question, I don't know OpnForm, never tried it, so I cannot tell you how it compares. What I can see from first glance is that Deftform offers everything their free and pro plan includes...
Good points about their gdpr opportunity to comply better. Regarding the data entered into the fields though, security and privacy are the concerns that a self-hosted option absolves. Can you speak to that, beyond saying it's encrypted&private is there something you can say about your willingness to agree to never access the form fill data we host, which our users trust us with?
Uhm, "willingness to agree..." ? :D What an odd phrase. We have absolutely no desire or need to access any submitted data – never have, and never will. We simply want to offer an alternative to all the bloated and over-priced form builders that exist. We don't share or sell any data with any third-party, neither yours, nor those of your users.
Q: Matrix and payment
Hi Andrea,
I have been working on the forms and getting to migrate my other forms. I have a quick question. Most of my form questions are usually required. Is it possible to make the entire questions compulsory and then switch off those we don't want to be compulsory individually?
Do you plan to have the Matrix input type? You know the type where I add questions in a row and options in columns. Best for when I am comparing several inputs on a scale. See example output on question four of this template https://tally.so/templates/upgrade-pricing-insights-survey/wvB8Qw
Also, are you considering adding quiz mode in the future?
A: Hi there, it's currently not possible to make all fields mandatory by default. You will have to make them mandatory individually. But I added this request to the backlog.
We currently don't offer a "Matrix" table, but this has been requested before and we plan to built support for that later this year (there a quite a few other things scheduled before that).
Q: Inquiry about Deftform - Requirements for GDPR-compliant Data Collection Form
Hello, I am interested in Deftform and would like to know if it meets my requirements. A central application case is the collection of customer data through a data protection-compliant medical history form, which I would like to create with Deftform. Important features I need: - Selection via checkboxes and dropdown menus for easy operation - Obtaining a legally binding signature at the end - Providing the finished document for the customer: The customer should be able to download the completed PDF directly, or I should be able to send or share it with them. - Ideally, the tool offers "if-then" logic: If the customer selects "Service A" or "B," only the relevant questions and further steps should appear. - To what extent is the design customizable (color, background, fonts, translation)
A: Hi there, since you mentioned "medical", I'd need to point out that, depending on where you are, we're not fully HIPAA compliant.
We do offer selections via checkboxes and dropdowns. We do offer a way for people to add their signature. We do offer an option to create PDF documents, but those can only be send to admins for now. Respondents can receive a summary with the data they supplied via...
