Overhyped and Underwhelming
Review as of January 4, 2025:
I was one of the earliest supporters of Findr, having bought a T5 license on June 2024. I bought into this product because even though at that time there were a number of rising competitors, this product claimed to be able to do everything and continue to improve itself.
You may notice that it says Tier 5 has unlimited account integrations. Not true at all. I don't use most of the integrations that it does have, but of what it does integrate that I use is GMAIL accounts-- I have a lot of them. Unfortunately, despite being Tier 5, the max is a paltry 5. FIVE! HOW IS UNLIMITED ONLY FIVE ACCOUNTS?!!? I complained and asked for an increase, and although the team responded, they were non-committal to my request. Their response gave me hope that they would eventually up the number to unlimited LIKE THEY PROMISED, so I foolishly kept the license, now to my regret. Oh, and what about being able to map out your local drive? That, I was told, was in progress. It is now 2025 and still it is not available. To me, that's a basic requirement for this type of product.
So what has developed since I bought my license? They now have moved Findr from 'V1' to 'V2!" That sounds, like, well, an upgrade! But, it's not. For instance, the search no longer works... that is, unless you use the copilot feature. Which, by the way, despite being a Tier 5 customer, I am limited to 30 copilot inquiries a day? Unlimited suddenly sounds very limited. And even when you do have a spare copilot query to spare, it is SLOW. SO FREAKING SLOW. It's looking through just a handful of GMAIL accounts, that's it.
This is a useless trash product in its current state, and I don't even feel bad being harsh in my criticism. The product was heavily marketed with big promises to its AppSumo customers, and now whoever faithfully stuck with them are left holding the bag. I spent 800 dollars of my hard-earned money for what is at the time of this writing an unusable SaaS product that is a gimped (i.e. weaker) version of their top monthly recurring subscription (which would take over 2 years to break even).
Perhaps what is most infuriating to me, beyond the fact that I spent nearly a grand on a useless product in its current state, is some of the messages I was seeing in the Questions section here on AppSumo for the product. For instance, there were questions asking about local file search support, and at least one of their team members said that it was launched. Nope! In another similar question about the topic, another team member said that some people don't want this feature. How ridiculous! Customers seek out AppSumo partners because they trust that they are generally trustworthy. What I see from these exchanges is anything but that. Separately, their roadmap (https://findr.mydoran.app/roadmap/product-roadmap) has not shown ANY changes since June/July 2024. If nothing else, this alone is a huge red flag.
I would recommend that all AppSumo prospective buyers take strong caution when considering this product. I am not confident that the leadership team is interested in making good on their promises.

Findr is no longer the app we purchased for
This app is supposed to perform seamless universal search , any additional functionalities or features should not completely remove the universal search feature that we purchased for. There are plenty of other products for second brain and uploading PDFs for chat function. Your statement on notion claims “Version 2 is our attempt to give you infinite memory ALONG with universal search” but the fact is the universal search is completely broken and non-functional. I’ve purchased the highest tier and now it’s useless. You had also promised a lot of integrations with apps in the beginning, but it’s still the same apps and non functional at this point. Findr is no longer the unique app.
You now claim it’s working exactly the way it’s supposed to, which is broken? This is a breach of contract and unacceptable to us that heavily invested in you for the only feature that it’s now completely broken and non-functional. Please restore for us early adopters.
By fixing the Universal search function, Findr would have been the most unique app, but all other added functions in V2 are available in other apps.

“Hello, Nishkarsh this side from Findr 👋,
I know sudden changes with v2 have been super frustrating and it took you by surprise. However, version 2 is functioning exactly the way it’s supposed to function. We stopped focusing on universal search because of many of you just wanted a simpler way to upload things using integrations eg - a page from notion, email from gmail, or folder from google drive.”

Good product but needs a fix!
Findr has always been my preferred tool for finding emails efficiently. Its user-friendly interface and powerful search functionality made it incredibly easy to locate important messages and stay organized. However, ever since the rollout of Version 2, I’ve been experiencing significant issues with the search feature.
It seems to be broken, so I can't find any emails, no matter the keywords or filters I use. This has not only become a frustrating experience but has also hindered my productivity. In a fast-paced environment where quick access to information is crucial, this limitation is a significant setback.
I would appreciate any feedback or updates regarding this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter; I hope a solution can be implemented soon.
