I am so grateful to Jon for this app!! I have been utilizing this app everyday. I had a few ui tweak requests as feedback and Jon graciously responded and implemented them. I have throw as many different pdf's, topics, questions I can come up with and so far it has not let me down. There has been a few moments where the ai model needs time to update but nothing that takes longer than a few minutes. I just go back to the home screen and ask my question again and boom no issue. I purchased a tier 3 license.

Pros:
Everything works and I think the desktop app is going to get better and better.

Cons:
Nothing yet.

All in all, if you are worried about your data or privacy this is the way to go.

at first I was sceptic but than I started to upload data to it and keep asking questions about the data
there is no doubt that DeepDive Preforms well even on a 250 pages documnet and is able to extract all the important and info and what you ask him

I am also trying the local for some more confident documents and it is also working very good in my opinion though my laptop is not that quicly for the processing but when I gave it enough time it was very good as well for my needs
all in all - worth buying for sure!

such power features
- applying a prompt to each section of a document when AI so often skips one of 50 items
- extracting columns from a collection of documents (ie build an excel sheet with 20 columns from the contents of 50pdfs where each column is a query)

for sure a keeper and so excited where this will go and already a happy user

My experience.

It is immediately better than Afforia, but slightly worse than LMNotebook.

Local use:

I use GPT4ALL and generate answers quickly and easily with various local models (LLAMA etc.).
With Socrates, the speed collapses, i.e. I receive output in slow motion, which is not usable for me and also not comprehensible with the same hardware and prompt used. But it's still a beta ;-)

Online use:

Very fast and if you don't want to use Google, Afforia or other beishers, a very good solution for querying documents.

Pros:
Everything works and I think the desktop app is great, keep it up!

Con:
I have several documents on my laptop trained as a chat for an “online” chat via the app. I also used the Deep function for these documents.

Now I wanted to continue editing on my desktop computer, but unfortunately, despite having an identical account (Tier2), I don't have access to the chats that have already been created, so of course I don't have access to the trained data either.

If I want to continue my work on the desktop, I would not only have to create everything again, but also pay for a deep training again. Since I had already spent 750 documents on my laptop, I would have to spend the same amount again just to be able to work with the same data.

Hmmm? Not good.

Combined with Deep Dive feature this give me a Comprehensive Document Analysis for my PDF's - Too long didn't read
Accurate and Detailed Outputs: Yes this has delivered detailed results for me.
Gives me ideas and summary
Allows me to break-down the contents of those PDF's into sections for idea generation
