What is the intent of that? In another response you claimed: "We currently only support up to 20MB per file as a best practice for branding files. We are exploring increasing the limit as an add-on to support 30-50MB for most files and 100-200MB for video files"
Ethos originally supported up to 5MB per file upload. After surveying our customers we decided to create higher tiers up to 20MB per file. It's best practice to have images and logos below 20MB when being used for branding touch points like websites and presentations. Are you trying to save large PDF and AI files? If so, you can link out to them with Ethos.
Thanks,
Brian
Q: Is Ethos a DAM limited to storing specific branding assets - only...
In other words, NOT a fully DAM (digital assets management tool) where the brands assets, e.g. videos, images, documents, etc. can be uploaded, stored and searched? The tier_1 storage capacity is 5 MB file brand asset limit - which is not meant to store videos etc. So, it's not comparable or an alternative to e.g. Brandfolder or Frontify etc. Am I right?
What is the definition of the 5 MB file brand asset limit?
Citation: "Digital asset management (DAM) for storing, sharing, and delivering information specific to branding"
With Ethos you can upload images and documents and host videos by adding their YouTube or Vimeo links. For images you can add tags to them. For every file and link added to Ethos you can search by text, title and tags. We recommend Ethos Agency or Ethos Enterprise that support up to 20MB per file with no upload limit on number of files.
Thanks, I see. So it's not a plattform where brands store and organize their entire assets library, instead of storing them on their own server. Its more like a "showroom" where the Brand can present themselves for the press etc but also be a go-to plattform with guidelines for how their logo, colors, fonts, values etc shall be utilized. Interesting indeed.
Ethos is a brand asset management where you'd store everything related to your brand such as brand copy, brand logos and images, brand colors and brand fonts. You can customize Ethos to be used as Media Kit or Press Kit too. It's not designed to store thousands of images and videos. While you can do that with Ethos we usually recommend to store non-critical files in Google Drive.
Thanks,
Brian
Q: Difference between Looka and Ethos?
Is Ehtos mainly a hosting for a ready made Brand Style? While Looka is where you design your Brand Style?
Ethos for developing your entire brand from copy to colors to fonts and storing your key brand assets. Looka if for designing your logo and applying your branding to marketing materials. You can store your Looka logo in Ethos and use your Ethos brand colors and fonts in Looka to design marketing materials.
Thanks,
Brian
Q: Rules are Locked
I just purchased this and am confused why these features are locked. Why are the Rules Section, Font Section, Color Sections and the Download option all locked? These features are listed with all plans per your intro:
Content, asset, style, and rule sections
Custom content, asset, and font sections
Changing the size and color of the fonts seems pretty standard and should not be a locked/premium feature, particularly for brand asset management. Also, creating rules such as do's and don'ts are also pretty standard for these types of tools.
Can you email our team at team@yourethos.io? You're most likely on our Starter or Standard package and need to be upgraded to Premium, Agency or Enterprise based on the number of codes purchased.
Thanks,
Brian
